Be sure to register early for your test so that there is enough time to process
any necessary paperwork and so that you can take the test at the test center of
your choice and at your desired time and date. You can register late by paying a
fee of $25. Be sure to take the test as soon as you can so that your score report
is sent to the schools of your choice before the school applicatoin deadline. When
you register, make double sure that you print and provide your name EXACTLY as it
appears on your identification document(s).
To register for the paper-based GRE General test, you can register by mail or online.
The paper-based GRE General Test is offered in areas of the world where computer-based
testing is not available. To register Online, use the
Online Registration System. To register by mail, complete the
registration form and mail it along with the required payment to the
address on the form. Check the general test dates to find out when the form must
be received.

GRE test. This section is divided into two columns, one if you are registering to
take the test in the United States, Canada, or one of the United States Territories,
and the other if you are registering to take the test at an International Location.

Register to Test in International Locations
There are three ways in which you can register to take the GRE in the U.S., U.S.
Territories, or Canada.
To register online, use the
Online registration system and pay by Credit Card.
To register by phone, you'll need to pay by credit card. Call your nearest
test center Monday through Friday, 8AM - 8PM Eastern Time or call the Canadidate
Services Call Center at 1-443-751-4820 or 1-800-GRE-CALL. When you call, you'll
be given a confirmation number, reporting time, and the test center address. You'll
need to keep this information.
To register by Mail, download the
Authorization Voucher Request Form, and mail the required payment and completed
request form to the address printer on the voucher. You'll need to allow 4 weeks
for processing and mail delivery. When you receive your voucher in the mail, call
the number of the voucher to schedule an appointment to take the GRE test. If you
loose your voucher, please contact ETS at 1-609-771-7670.
To register to take the GRE in an International Location, register online, by phone,
by fax, or by mail.
To register by phone, call your nearest
regional registration center at least two days before your preferred test
date. When you call, you'll be given a confirmation number, reporting time, and
test center details.
To register by fax, you'll need a credit card or a voucher number. Complete
the
International Test Scheduling Form and fax it to the appropriate regional
registration center at least 7 days before your first-choice test date. You'll then
receive by fax or mail a confirmation number, reporting time, and test center details.
Call the regional registration center if you do not receive confirmation of your
appointmne at least 3 business days prior to your first-choice test date.
To register by mail, complete the
International Test Scheduling Form and send it to the appropriate regional
registration center. You must send out the completed International Test Scheduling
Form so that it is received at least three weeks before your first choice test date.
You'll be mailed or faxed a confirmation number, reporting time, and details of
yout test center.

Contact the test center where you are scheduled to test or call 1-443-751-4820 or
1-800-GRE-CALL at least 10 days before your appointment. You'll be charged $50 to
reschedule your test.
